Our study on medically assisted reproduction and attitudes towards alternative family forms was published in the sociological journal "European Societies". The authors are Hannah Zagel from TU Dortmund University and Marie-Caroline Compans from the University of Vienna/INED Paris.

This paper examines the relationship between legal regulation of medically assisted reproduction (MAR) and public attitudes towards family forms in Europe, particularly with regard to single women and lesbian couples. The results show that, in contexts with high acceptance of same-sex parenthood, lesbian couples are more likely to be granted access to MAR, while access for single women is less related to public opinion. Overall, the article shows how social acceptance and legal frameworks can support the formation of new family forms.
