Since October 2024, I am Professor of Life Course Sociology at TU Dortmund. I am also Head of the Emmy-Noether Research Group Varieties of Reproduction Regimes: Institutions, Norms and Inequalities, funded by the German Research Foundation (DFG) (2022-2028) at the WZB Berlin Social Science Center. My main research interests are in comparative sociology with a focus on social inequality, reproduction, and family relationships across the life course, and the role of policies. I have worked extensively on family policy and single parenthood. Work in the Emmy-Noether group project focuses on reproductive processes and their regulation by the state.
